Install on iPhone

This takes about five minutes. Do it at home on wifi, a day or two before you fly.

Install

  1. Open the email with your QR code on another screen, or print it.
  2. On your iPhone go to Settings, Mobile Service (or Cellular), Add eSIM.
  3. Choose "Use QR Code" and scan it. No second screen? Tap "Enter Details Manually" and copy the codes from the email.
  4. Label the new line, for example "ArrivalSIM".
  5. For the default line, keep your own SIM. For mobile data, keep your own SIM for now.
  6. Untick "Allow Mobile Data Switching". This stops your phone using your home plan abroad by accident.

After landing

  1. Settings, Mobile Service, tap the ArrivalSIM line and switch it on.
  2. Turn on Data Roaming for this line.
  3. Go back and set Mobile Data to the ArrivalSIM line.
  4. Optional: switch off Data Roaming on your home SIM to avoid roaming costs.

Problems

  • "This code is no longer valid": the QR code was already used. Each code works once. Contact us via the contact page.
  • No signal after landing: switch flight mode on and off, then check that Data Roaming is on for the ArrivalSIM line.
  • No data but signal bars: check that Mobile Data is set to the ArrivalSIM line.

Do not delete the eSIM while you still want to use it. A deleted eSIM cannot be installed again.
